Volunteers are needed to help at the charity's montly resource centres in Bishop's Stortford, Hemel Hempstead, Redbourn, Stevenage and Welwyn Garden City.
After training, you will be able to help clients visiting the centre get maximum benefit from their hearing aids, by exchanging batteries, providing basic maintenance (cleaning and re-tubing) and troubleshooting problems.
If you are able to help at the resource centre in Hemel Hempstead or Welwyn Garden City, you can also receive training to offer advice on assistive equipment.
Our training is free, comprehensive and will be adapted to suit your knowledge of hearing loss/aids. Good manual dexterity is a requirement for this role. You will also have the opportunity to spend half a day at an NHS audiology department, subject to availability.
